Today’s networking technology is largely divided into two tiers. Mobile networks everywhere have mostly transitioned to 4G LTE, while networks within enterprises utilize Wifi and ethernet connectivity. Within enterprises, wifi has coverage gaps and bandwidth limitations, while Carrier mobile networks can be spotty and have limited coverage.

What is Private LTE

Private LTE/5G is a local cellular network that includes cell sites and core network servers dedicated to supporting the mission critical nature of business. There is no fundamental difference between public and private LTE networks. But unlike congested public wireless networks, a private wireless network limits access to subscribed users, increasing reliability by avoiding contention and interference. And unlike Wifi, with lots of access-points, an LTE/5G network can support a lot more users and higher bandwidth, across a much larger area with each of its cell-site radio-heads.

A private wireless system works as a single private cellular network typically at different frequencies than those used by Telecom Operators. These frequencies are allocated and reachable within range of the private LTE infrastructure. Just like any other LTE network, the three major components in private LTE architecture are: UE, RAN and EPC.
User Equipment (UE) refers to phones, tablets or mobile modems, etc. from which users connect via IP and access broad-band data services. UEs have a SIM card, which stores user-specific data such as the user’s phone number, home network identity and security keys etc.

E-UTRAN (Radio Access Network) handles the radio communications between the mobile and the evolved packet core. It consists of evolved base stations, called eNodeB in 4G LTE.

The evolved packet core (EPC) communicates with packet data networks (PDN) in the outside world such as the internet, private corporate networks or the IP multimedia subsystem.
eNodeB is the hardware that is connected to the mobile phone network that communicates directly wirelessly with mobile handsets (UEs), like a base transceiver station (BTS) in older GSM networks.

Each eNodeB (eNB) controls the mobiles in one or more cells and consists of a Baseband Unit (BBU) and one or more Remote Radio Heads (RRH) or Remote Radio Units (RRU) which connect to Antenna.

A RRU is a remote radio transceiver that connects to an operator radio control panel via electrical or wireless interface, and to the eNodeB via a fiber optic cable using Common Public Radio Interface protocols . It is used to extend the coverage of an eNodeB.

Components of NybSys Malin Private LTE Network

Nybsys offers a full private LTE network implementation tuned to the radio frequency desired by the customer, including CBRS in the US, 700 Mhz, 900 Mhz or other TDD and FDD LTE bands within the US or internationally. SIM cards are issued for usage with LTE end-devices of the customer’s choosing.
