What is 5G Baseband Unit (BBU)?
The 5G baseband unit connects with Radio Unit and processes the protocol stack and forwards traffic to the 5GC. Depending on requirements, Nybsys offers different types of BBU for your unique requirements.
5G baseband unit connects 5G Radio Units, processes all 5G protocols, and manages connectivity to the 5G core. Nybsys offers different baseband units depending on user requirements. Nybsys also offers gateways: Front haul gateways connect 5G RU to BBU, and Access gateway connects the integrated 5G base station to the internet and other 5GC.

5G Gateway
Malin Gateway 3000 series of products offers RU to BBU connectivity or integrated base station to Orchestration connectivity. The gateways offered by Nybsys are:
Front-haul gateway-3010
The 3010 is a 5G Front-haul Gateway that supports O-RAN 7-2x split front-haul interface downlink relay and uplink aggregation functions and provides a synchronous GPS clock source to BBU and O-RU.
It is equipped with one eCPRI interface for BBU, 8 eCPRI interfaces for O-RU, and a cascade port connecting to another Front-haul Gateway. It enables a BBU to link up to 16 O-RU for coverage expansion.

5G Access Gateway 6010
CoreLink AGW supports 4G and 5G protocols and offers compact EPC / 5GC services to small, integrated base stations. This gateway supports 3GPP release 15 for LTE and 15 for 5G SA.
It is a cost-effective solution and overcomes the entire network splitting and disaggregating, making it simple to operate. AGW connects to an online orchestrator for remote management.
